Confidence doesn’t always disappear because of failure. Sometimes it fades because of repetition—too many routine tasks, too little mental challenge, too much reacting instead of thinking. I noticed this especially during periods when my days looked the same and my brain felt underused. What I wanted wasn’t validation from others. I didn’t need encouragement or compliments. I wanted proof—something quiet and objective—that my brain still worked the way it used to. That’s when I found myself opening Sudoku, not for fun, but almost as a test.
