Healing in Dark and Darker
There are already a few ways to heal in Dark and Darker, with more potentially on the way with the game’s full release. Currently, the most certain way to heal is through healing potions and bandages. Like in many RPG games, consumable healing items are the best way to ensure that a player will always have enough health for the task at hand. In the video from the Video Game Databank Youtube channel, players can see how to acquire health from various traders before missions.
In levels, players can find and loot health items. Healing potions are bright red and stand out in the gloomy levels. Bandages might be initially harder to spot. Potions, as they stand now, will heal 15 HP over 20 seconds, while bandages will heal 10 HP immediately.
A less common but very effective healing consumable in Dark and Darker will be a campfire kit. These kits can be bought from traders before missions, specifically from the Woodsman. It will cost the player 24 Gold. However, this will allow players to heal not only themselves but any other teammate they have brought along. This will make it particularly effective in multiplayer. To use it, find a suitable location in the dungeon and interact with it. A campfire will appear, which will heal the players and increase some Skills and Spells of the various classes, similar to the bonfires in games like Dark Souls.
Healing Shrines are also a viable healing opportunity within dungeons in Dark and Darker. They will feature a white statue of a lady with a white sphere on top. These locations can only be used once but can be found multiple times throughout dungeons. Praying to the shrine will allow players to recover 100% of their HP.
Various class abilities in Dark and Darker will also let players heal themselves and potentially others. As of the latest playtest, there are four main class abilities that let players heal. These can be seen in the table below:
Other than those abilities, certain spells can allow players to heal. This is currently limited to the Cleric class in Dark and Darker but may include others later. Holy Light, Lesser Heal, and Resurrection can all recover some HP, with Resurrection allowing players to resurrect an ally from the dead. Holy Light can heal an ally for 30 HP, and Lesser Heal will heal an ally or the player casting it for 15 HP.
For now, those are the known ways to heal in Dark and Darker. There will likely be more added to the game as time goes on. While players may have to wait for the expected full release in late 2023, those looking to join the next playtest can do so in February 2023 on Steam. Anyone who does venture into the dungeons of Dark and Darker will, however, be pleased to know that there Buy DAD Gold are multiple ways to heal.
